| | How to log into your VCU email on mobile devices |

- Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Drive, Google Chat, etc. for iOS/iPadOS and Android

| Solution | NOTE: Clinical departments, other departments dealing with HIPAA or sensitive data, and Technology Services are under Google Mobile Device Management. Mobile setup instructions for these departments differ and can be found here: Google MDM Setup Instructions CAUTION: All devices configured with VCU Google Workspace accounts should be secured with a pin code or password. - Download Gmail or other Google app from your device's app store.
- Open the Gmail or other Google app, then look for the scenario that applies to you below:
- If no account has previously been added to any Google Workspace application on your device, you will be prompted to add a new account. Select Google if prompted, then go to the next step.
- If you have another Google Workspace application with your VCU account already added, you may be prompted to select Continue, then enable the existing VCU account (and other accounts if desired), then select Done to complete the process.
- If not prompted, select the profile picture icon in the top right corner of the screen, then Add another account, then Google (for Gmail, Google Drive, Google Meet) or go under the ≡ menu icon in the top left corner, then select Manage accounts, then Add another account (for Google Calendar,) then go to the next step.
- In the Email or Phone field, enter your email address. (eID@vcu.edu)
- Select Next
- Enter your VCU eID and Password. If prompted, complete the 2-Factor authentication.
- If prompted with Terms of Service, select Agree.

| Additional Information | We recommend using the Google apps with your VCU Google account for the most consistent experience and support. IT support may not be able to assist with native apps (those that come with the phone) or third-party apps. Additionally, those who affiliated with clinical departments, other departments dealing with HIPAA or sensitive data, and Technology Services are restricted from using these apps and will unable to do so. |
